About the Wisconsin Outdoors
Alliance
WOA Mission
The Wisconsin Outdoors Alliance (WOA) works on
behalf of a great diversity of conservation and
outdoors groups to promote habitat enhancement and
wildlife management programs that bolster the health
and sustainability of our state's ecosystems. WOA
seeks to unify the voices of hikers and hunters,
trappers and environmentalists, anglers and
birdwatchers to demonstrate both the overwhelming
importance of resource stewardship and economic
power of Wisconsin's outdoors industry. WOA will
organize to gain broad public support for the
preservation of our natural heritage that will be
required to protect land, water, and wildlife
resources for future generations. The priorities of
the WOA will be driven by a commitment to sustaining
the vitality and viability of all outdoor activities
that are so fundamental to who we are as citizens of
Wisconsin.
Why WOA is Needed
The WOA is a nonpartisan, non-profit organization
dedicated to uniting and strengthening every aspect
of our outdoors legacy. There are three very
important reasons that the WOA is needed:
-
The economic impact of hiking, hunting,
angling, bird watching, trapping and other
outdoors pursuits is staggering. When
combined with tourism, the outdoors
community may be the third largest industry
in the
state.
-
The benefits derived from a strong outdoors
community accrue to every citizen in
Wisconsin. Abundant wildlife, clean water,
fresh air can be enjoyed by everyone.
-
The people of Wisconsin believe that
outdoors pursuits are more than hobbies and
when taken together define the very culture
of the state.
Advocacy
The WOA serves its membership through advocacy,
information and education. You can join the WOA as
an individual or as a sponsor.
The WOA maintains an effective professional staff
with the ability to communicate on behalf of the
members on important public and governmental issues.
